RECIPE: Vegan & Gluten-Free French Toast

Vegan French Toast recipe

INGREDIENTS:


Batter

1 tbsp. full of corn starch

1 tbsp. full of tapioca flour

1 tsp full of cinnamon (or more to taste)

1 tsp of brown sugar

a pinch of turmeric (for colour)

a pinch of salt

1/2 cup of plant based milk


Vegan bread of your choice - cut into thick slices.

Icing sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle on top (optional)

Maple & Passionfruit Syrup to taste - to garnish

2 tbsp of cold Vutter (Original) - for frying


METHOD:


Mix it all for the batter, make sure to dissolve any lumps.

Dip your bread on the batter, let it soak up well but don't leave it for long or it will start melting.


In a pan, add Vutter and fry the bread until golden and crispy on both sides. Remove from pan and sprinkle with icing sugar and cinnamon with the help of a siv. Do it while still hot so it sticks to the bread.


Serve it with your favorite toppings - we served ours with vegan bacon, maple syrup, passion fruit syrup & vegan vanilla yogurt and
